Privacy policy

bookgolf is run by JS Softwares. Clubs listed here run their own tee sheets. When you book a club that takes bookings on this site, your booking goes straight onto that club's tee sheet.

The club you book with is responsible for your booking details. We handle them on the club's behalf so the booking can be made, confirmed and managed. For everything else on this site, such as reviews, listing requests and messages you send us, JS Softwares is responsible.

• When you book: your name, and your email address and phone number if you give them; the date, time, number of players and price; and the IP address the booking came from, which we use to stop abuse.
• When you pay by card: your card details go into a secure form provided by Square and are sent straight to Square. Neither we nor the club ever see or store your full card number.
• When you leave a review: your ratings and what you write. Reviews are shown with your first name and initial.
• When you ask us to list, claim or remove a club: your name, role, email address, phone number if you give it and your message.
• When you browse: we count page visits without cookies, recording only the page, the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and how you reached it (for example search, email or a club's website). To count how many people visit each day, your IP address and browser type are combined with a random value that changes daily and only a scrambled result is kept - never the IP address itself - and the random value is deleted after two days, so visits can't be linked to you or to each other across days. Our servers also keep short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure.

• To make your booking, put it on the club's tee sheet and let you view or cancel it.
• To email you a booking confirmation, receipt or cancellation, and one invitation to review your round after you've played. We only email you if you give us your address.
• To deal with listing requests and anything else you contact us about.
• To keep the site secure and working, and to understand how it's used.

We don't sell your information and we don't send you marketing.

• The club you book with, which receives your booking and may contact you about it.
• Square, which processes card payments.
• The companies that host this site and deliver our emails, only as needed to provide those services.

We may also share information where the law requires it.

Booking details are kept as part of the club's records for as long as the club needs them. Listing requests are kept for as long as it takes to deal with them. Technical logs are deleted after a short period.

You can ask to see the information held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it's used. For a booking, contact the club or us. For anything else, email [email protected].

If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
